Quake Amputee: "All is not lost."

It's been one year since the devastating earthquake that struck Haiti. Watch the story of Darline Bertil, who lost both of her arms after being trapped in a building. What do you think of her? Is there something to be learned from her story?

Let's hear what you think...

This is an amazing and inspiring story. You can learn from this that no matter what happens to you, you can still move on in life and do what needs to be done. It is amazing that she is still alive after being in a collapsed building, and is now trying to help others like her! She is an amazing woman and can teach others a great lesson in life.

I think that this is pretty amazing that this lady is still alive after being trapped. and now she has a arm like thing, it can now make her pick up things and grab stuff. I think this is amazing.

I agree with colin and jacob. She has been though so much and she still wants to help others. With losing her two arms in such a painful way.As I was listening I saw that she said she could not support her family because of her arms and since I know that Haiti lives in poverty the families there need help from their kids to make sure they have everything they need to live like water, food, and other materials. She is such a amazing person.she is someone that I want to be like one day caring for others and not myself.I pray for her family and darline that she will be ok and keep doing what she loves with the help of others to care for those who have been though the same thing.

This girl is amazing! She went through a heart braking loss losing both hands but she learned how to eat, write, drink, and do many things most people could not do with both hands lost. She is an amazing girl. Well i think i have learned that all is not lost with no hands. You can still do normal things if you had the stregth she did.

It is amazing that she is still alive. She said "why me why did this happen to me " i think that is sad that she lost both of her hands, but amazing that the doctors gave her an arm to live a normal life.If that was me i would not go through it as strong as she did.

I'm so glad that we have such great technology so that life for this woman can go on almost normal. Alsoit's so great that we helped out Hati.If not this woman could be daed or have no arms which would really complicate life. So, we should all be thankful that we don't have earthquakes or have such great technology that makes this possible. Just amagine what it would be like if we didn't have technology to help this woman...

I think this is amazing that this woman survived. I think she is really grateful that she was able to get these mechanical arms since she lost hers instead of having none. It is fascinating that she can write and grab things. I learned from her be grateful for what we have.

I'm really glad that she made it out there alive, but it cost her both of her arms. I think she must feel really good about herself about what she is doing.Hopefully her message encourages many other people to stand up like she did, which i think takes a very positive and strong person to do, considering that she has lost so much in the earthquake.

I really feel sorry for this lady after from what happened to her. But i think her biggest loss was not her arms, but that she cannot support her family like she said. she must be going through alot right now.

I think this is kind of telling us that we dont know what we have until it is gone. It is also giving our parents an excuse when we say we cant do something because this lady has kids and a life just like everyone else and if she can do it so can we!
